Dr. Charles Roesel, Interim Senior Pastor

Pastor Roesel was ordained on August 26, 1956 by the First Baptist Church of Wildwood. He graduated from Stetson University in 1958 and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kentucky in May 1961. He and his wife, Edna Sue, and three children served Baptist churches in New Smyrna Beach and Zephyrhills before coming to FBC Leesburg in 1976. He served as senior pastor at FBC Leesburg for thirty years. During that time, the church was blessed with phenomenal growth by transformation not transfer, with over 7,000 baptized. Pray for Pastor Charles as he comes to lead us during this transitional time in the life of our church.

BRO. RICKEY TAYLOR, 

MINISTER OF MUSIC AND EDUCATION

I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God while I exist. Psalms 104: 33. Brother Rickey Taylor joined our church family in July, 2004. He is a gifted singer who has been involved in music and education ministries since 1980. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from West Carolina University, then received a Master's Degree in Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. If the Bible is the bones of our worship, then music is the heart. Brother Rickey leads the church in songs to lift our spirits, and has tapped into the creativity of many in the congregation. He loves to present music with a fresh approach, and delights the congregation with variety. Every service is unique.

CHILDREN'S PASTOR

Pastor Michael joined our church family in January, 2008. He has served in churches in Florida and Georgia as a Youth and Children's Pastor since 2000. His passion is for children and seeing them grow in their walk with God. Michael is a graduate of the Baptist College of Florida with a degree in Christian Education and Elementary Education. Michael has been married to his partner in ministry, Tasha, since 2001. They have three beautiful children; Emily Faith, Lauren Grace, and Michael David. Michael's passions include singing, writing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Michael knows that children are a gift from the Lord and that if you train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it (Psalm 127:3, Proverbs 22:6).
